After talking with many different types of brides, it is clear that being smart with your floral spending is the key to being happy in the long run. It is my belief that floral is absolutely essential to the day whether the budget be big or small. Here are a few hints and tips when talking flowers on your wedding day and how to make the most out of what you have!
Be upfront about your budget, that way the florist knows what to provide for you and you won’t have to keep negotiating back and forth to keep costs down. There are so many possibilities and types of floral that can effect the look and feel of the wedding, it is really good to meet face to face to get the most out of your vendor.
If you are getting married at a separate venue, transfer over the arrangements from the ceremony and use them as centerpieces at the reception!
Consider using your bridal bouquet and bridesmaid bouquets as head table pieces.
Buy your own vases, you can reuse/sell them to others after you finish!
Use large blooms like hydrangeas, roses and peonies and lilies. Although they seem pricey, they will fill up your vases giving you much more volume and fullness, that and the fact they are absolutely beautiful.
Do not count out greenery. There are so many types of greenery out there that can give you AMAZING textures and cool funky shapes. They are super long lasting and really good for the wallet.
Ask your florist if they use a local organic farm in the summer time and if you can use local blooms, they tend to be WAY more interesting and unique compared to the imported ones!
That is all for now!
